In Match No. 27, Usman Khan's second consecutive hundred was in vain.

 Munro 84 and Shadab 54 propel Islamabad United to a 229 lead and a postseason berth.

 The two-time champions Islamabad United qualified for the playoffs on Sunday thanks to an incredible run chase headed by Colin Munro and skipper Shadab Khan against Multan Sultans, who were at the top of the PSL standings.


In their final league match, Islamabad defeated the opposition by three wickets with 232 for 7, thanks to strikes from Munro (84 off 40 balls) and Shadab (54 off 31 balls) and an important unbeaten thirty from Imad Wasim. Sultans maintain first place with 12 points and a game remaining, while United concluded with 11 points from 10 games.

Usman Khan had earlier scored his second century in as many tournaments as he led Multan to 228 for 4 with an undefeated hundred off fifty balls. Shadab had won the toss and chosen to play in the cloudy circumstances.


Usman shared two strong half-century stands with Johnson Charles (42) and Iftikhar Ahmed (13), smashing 15 fours and three sixes in his commanding innings.

David Willey got the thick outside edge of Alex Hales' bat, giving United a rough start. However, quick bowler Mohammad Ali (2 for 44) produced a wonderful one-handed return catch to remove Agha Salman.

Munro and Shadab then counterattacked against Usama Mir (0 for 68) and Chris Jordan (1 for 42), the tournament's top wicket-takers, to put the chase back on track with a 141-run partnership.
