Match No 20 PSL 2024 PZvsIU

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi will take place on Monday night in Rawalpindi.

With six games played, Islamabad has five points, while Peshawar Zalmi has the same number of games played but two more points.

Islamabad United is keen to get back on the field and win this game after their previous one was called off before a ball was played. They have a good chance to win this game even if they have a less than ideal previous record versus Peshawar Zalmi.

For Islamabad United, Colin Munro, Agha Salman, and Alex Hales are in top form. With two perfect fifty-score innings under his belt thus far in the tournament, Salman is averaging 62.66 going into this match. Munro, who entered this game having hit 71 and 82 in their last two encounters, is still producing runs at this level.

Conversely, Peshawar Zalmi, who had seemed invincible in their last three matches, now have to start a fresh winning run. They are currently in third place in the table, but they can move up to the top two spots. Zalmi feels upbeat about their chances of winning this match.

Rovman Powell, Babar Azam, and Saim Ayub will be important hitters. Powell is a right-hander from the West Indies who has amassed 3691 runs at a strike-rate of 139.95 in this format. Powell can come to the wicket at any time during the game.

Prior to this game, Azam is still the tournament's top run scorer and is in great form. Ayub is also batting with confidence.

Since there was no play in either of the Saturday games in Rawalpindi and the pitches were still covered, we expect the surface to be a little bit humid, which will help the pace bowlers in this match.

Rawalpindi is not expected to get any rain on Monday, but the evening will not be warm. Even though it will only get as high as 17 degrees, there will be some clear skies and gloomy days.

Peshawar Zalmi look comfortable after winning three games and have a good chance of winning, even if Islamabad United is playing at home.

In Karachi today, the drama of the previous year's epic final, which the Sultans lost by a run, was undoubtedly surpassed. At several points during both innings, United looked to have won that match, but never more so than when they got the Sultans down to 127 for 9. However, Iftikhar Ahmed's cameo of an unbeaten 32 off 20 balls lifted the Sultans to 159, a score that they felt they had just about enough manpower to ...
