The head of PCB announces a "reorganized" selection committee with seven members who have equal authority.

Watch Conference

Speaking to reporters at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Naqvi announced that the selection committee had been "reorganized" and would now consist of seven people.

He declared that all seven members of the committee would have equal authority and that there would be no longer be a chairperson. "Most decisions will be made by them... in order to move toward a better outcome," he stated.

Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Yousuf, Asad Shafique, and Abdul Razzaq joined Naqvi at the news conference; according to the PCB chief, all of them were a part of the new committee.

Naqvi stated that in addition to a "data person," the head coach and captain of the Pakistani team would also be on the selection committee.

Consequently, all future decisions will be made by this selecting group. I also informed them yesterday that the [PCB] chairman will not be involved in squad selection. We have to handle things because we are management people. Since they are the experts, I'm hoping they'll provide us with a positive outcome," he remarked.

Naqvi stated that efforts were on to select the team's coaches. "The day it is finalized, we will come to you and tell you," he stated.

He did not, however, hesitate to provide any early details in this respect. As an illustration, the PCB CEO stated that the board was in discussions with a coach whose story was so heavily publicized in the media that "he got so worried that he ran away."

He urged the crowd to hold off for "four to five days," promising that the PCB would appoint a "dream team" to serve as their coaching staff.

The PCB announced earlier in the day that the men's national selection committee had been dissolved. A new committee will be chosen soon, the spokesperson had promised, and it would make choices based on performance and merit.

The spokesperson had also stated, "The decisions made on merit by the new selection committee will be visible to everyone."

The PCB CEO was questioned about Imad Wasim's announcement that he was ready for the forthcoming T20 World Cup and that he was resuming his retirement from international cricket during his press conference.

Imad was called back because, according to Naqvi, the team wanted to be at maximum capacity for the impending T20 World Cup.

He also mentioned the reinstatement of pace sensation Haris Rauf's contract. The PCB canceled Haris' contract in February after looking into his purported refusal to travel with Pakistan's Test team to Australia in 2023–2024.

Additionally, Naqvi declared that the PCB's revenues would be used for team enhancement and the "betterment of cricket."

In response to a query, Naqvi expressed his optimism that a women's cricket league will be established and that additional teams would be added to the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He mentioned that prior chairmen have pledged to establish a women's league. Naqvi answered, "Give me a few months and you will see the results."

Wasim Haider, Wajahatullah Wasti, Tauseef Ahmed, and Riaz chaired the previous national selection committee. Hassan Muzaffar Cheema was the manager of analytics and team strategy, while Kamran Akmal and Rao Iftikhar Anjum served as consultants.

Naqvi had alluded to modifications to the selection committee at a press conference held at the PSL final last week.

The chairman stated, "I think the selection committee should be given enough authority to be able to make these crucial decisions. I might be making some changes in that committee."

It should be noted that on Friday, Naqvi and Riaz had a meeting at the Board's Lahore headquarters. Riaz gave thorough updates on player performance from the just finished PSL ninth edition during the meeting, which was held to choose squads for the forthcoming series against New Zealand.

Naqvi, who is also the country's interior minister, wanted to construct a group of players “based on merit and performance,” which included standout players from the domestic cricket tournament, according to a PCB news statement.

The T20 World Cup's ninth edition takes place from June 1–29. The United States and the West Indies are organizing the expanded 20-team competition together. It will begin on June 1 at Dallas, Texas's Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium with a match between the US and Canada, who are both participating in their first-ever T20 World Cups.

This Sunday, June 9, is the big match between India and Pakistan at a new stadium 30 miles east of downtown Manhattan. This is one of eight games that will take place at the 34,000-seat modular stadium that is now under construction in Nassau County.

It will be the first time that a significant international cricket event is conducted in the United States. There will be 16 games in all.

The most prestigious cricket ground in the United States, Lauderhill in South Florida, will host matches including Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and India.

Pakistan will begin its preparation for the T20 World Cup on April 18 when they take on New Zealand in five T20I matches in Rawalpindi and Lahore, this time at home.

Ihsanullah's inaccurate elbow diagnosis is noted by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is furious over how board members have handled the injury of young fast bowler Ihsanullah. Ihsan, 21, made a big impression with his pace in the Pakistan Super League last year. He then took part in two ODIs at home against New Zealand and three T20 matches against Afghanistan in Sharjah. But after the series against New Zealand, he suffered an elbow injury that kept him out of action for the Asia Cup and World Cup. Unfortunately for the youngster, his recovery has not yet been complete due to a misdiagnosis of his condition and a botched operation in Lahore. A top physician on the board's medical panel made the first diagnosis, according to a Press Trust of India article. As a result, time was lost trying to heal the patient without surgery. Following a failed surgery at a private hospital in Lahore, medical professionals at his PSL team, Multan Sultan, determined he needed to see a specialist in the UK. The PCB has n...

Hunain Shah wins with the last ball as Multan falls in yet another thrilling match. For the Sultans, it was deja vu as they watched another PSL final be stolen from them in a low-scoring thriller ending. United's hero was Imad Wasim, who defied time with an incredible all-around effort. He claimed five wickets and was out in the middle when Hunain Shah angled the final delivery behind point to win United's third title. In Karachi today, the drama of the previous year's epic final, which the Sultans lost by a run, was undoubtedly surpassed. At several points during both innings, United looked to have won that match, but never more so than when they got the Sultans down to 127 for 9. However, Iftikhar Ahmed's cameo of an unbeaten 32 off 20 balls lifted the Sultans to 159, a score that they felt they had just about enough manpower to ...
