Iftikhar Ahmed advances, in the ICC T20I rankings.

This week, there were notable changes in the ICC ODI and T20I rankings.


 Rashid Khan had an incredible recovery from injuries and played brilliantly in the ICC Men's T20I series against Ireland. His outstanding performance brought him eight wickets and a four-spot jump to ninth place in the T20I Bowler Rankings. Afghanistan's series win over Ireland was greatly aided by his steady excellence, which saw him maintain an outstanding 5.62 average throughout the games.


Parallel to this, Rashid's countryman Naveen-ul-Haq rose two spots to 55th in the rankings following his impressive three-wicket performance against Ireland. In the meantime, the T20I bowler rankings of three Irish players—Josh Little, Mark Adair, and Barry McCarthy—saw increases. The number one spot in the rankings was still held by Englishman Adil Rashid.

With 861 rating points, Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav maintained his top spot in the T20I batter rankings. Afghanistan's Muhammad Nabi returned to the top 50 following his outstanding 90-run innings against Ireland. In the T20 batting rankings, Pakistan's Muhammad Rizwan and Babar Azam occupied the third and fourth positions, respectively. 


As a result of Hazratullah Zazai's withdrawal from Afghanistan's series against Ireland, the country fell five spots to 58th place, while Iftikhar Ahmed advanced two spots to 57th place with 479 rating points. With 436 rating points, Fakhar Zaman also moved up two spots to the 71st position.

Following Sri Lanka's series win against Bangladesh, there were also alterations to the ICC ODI batting rankings. After amassing an incredible 151 runs in the series, Pathum Nissanka moved up three spots to take the seventh spot in the ODI batting rankings.Charith Asalanka, his teammate, improved as well, going from 14th to 14th place after scoring 146 runs in three innings. With 824 rating points, Babar Azam maintained his hegemony in the ODI batting standings.
