Pakistan to tour Ireland ahead of ICC Men's T20 World Cup in May.


Ireland series is a part of Pakistan's 12-match run-in before the T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies.

 Pakistan's three-match Twenty20 International trip of Ireland has been announced by the PCB. The games will take place in Dublin's Castle Avenue on May 10, 12, and 14.

The series is a part of Pakistan's 12-match run-in to the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA in June. New Zealand will go to Pakistan in April to play five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), with the first match scheduled for April 18 before Pakistan departs for Ireland. The championship game is scheduled for April 27. Pakistan will thereafter embark on a four-T20I series in England beginning on May 22.

Pakistan's most recent engagement took place in a Twenty20 International series, where they were hosted for five matches in January by New Zealand.

2018 saw Pakistan pay Ireland's first-ever Test match a visit. The two teams had not previously played in a different format until that point. Additionally, the Covid-19 pandemic forced a postponement of Pakistan's two Twenty20 International matches against Ireland that were originally scheduled to take place in Dublin in July 2020.

While they did earn a historic maiden Test win in Abu Dhabi to start that tour, Ireland will enter the T20Is against Pakistan fresh off defeats in the ODI and T20I series against Afghanistan in the UAE earlier this month.

Three further Twenty20 Internationals between Pakistan and the Netherlands were supposed to take place in May, but the PCB requested last November that the series be put on hold indefinitely. At the time, Roland Lefebvre, the high-performance manager of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Board (PCB) in the Netherlands, revealed that the tour had been postponed due to conflicts in scheduling and player workload. At that point, the PCB had stated that they were actively trying to locate another window.
