Shan Masood discusses Pakistan's approach to Test cricket strategy.

Shan Masood, the captain of Pakistan's Test team, has been transparent about his team's future red-ball cricket plan.

The Shan Masood-led team will take on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series as part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–2025. Pak is currently ranked fifth in the WTC points standings. In this cycle, they are scheduled to play nine Test matches.

Three home Test matches against England will come after the series against Bangladesh. After that, Pakistan will play two matches in South Africa before traveling back home to play two matches against the West Indies.

At a press conference, Shan Masood stated that his team's goal is to play with the intention of winning matches in order to raise their ranking in the WTC. Masood stated, "We need to secure victories if we want to compete in the World Test Championship. This requires showing intent and positivity in every aspect of the game, whether it's batting, bowling, or fielding."

"We'll concentrate on getting the finest outcomes for Pakistan. We must prevail in a large portion of the nine upcoming Test matches," he continued.

The team's benefits were again emphasized by the skipper as they were ready for a busy Test schedule. The primary players stay the same throughout management changes, which adds to the stability of the squad. He also underlined that Pakistan will have home advantage in seven of the nine games, which is a huge plus for the group.

Shan said, "There have been management changes, but the team is essentially the same." "We have been working on adapting our play to the circumstances."

The fact that we are playing at home and our players are accustomed to the environment is a plus. We must seize the opportunity, but managing both physical and mental strain will be crucial," he said.

Pakistan and Bangladesh will play a two-match series. The first Test will take place in Rawalpindi from August 21 to August 25, and the second match will take place in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.

Pakistani team for the upcoming Test series with Bangladesh Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice captain), Aamir Jamal (subject to fitness), Kamran Ghulam, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicket-keeper), Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicket-keeper), and Shaheen Shah Afridi
