"People Who Committed Mistakes Remain": Former Pakistani Captain Regarding Babar Azam's "Physical Fitness" Doubts

Beginning on August 21, Pakistan and Bangladesh will engage in a two-Test series, with Babar Azam slated to bat at number four.

Salman Butt, a former cricket player for Pakistan, praised Babar Azam, stating that the right-hander has demonstrated his fitness and amassed massive runs over the last two years. In their forthcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, Pakistan's reliable batsman Babar Azam is scheduled to start at number four, sources said Geo News on Thursday. According to the sources, captain Shan Masood will bat at number three, and Abdullah Shafiq's spot as the team's opener is "not under threat," according to Geo News.

"Babar Azam scored truckloads of runs in the last two years, he proved his fitness, he ran on the field, and he scored runs while batting first as well as second innings," Butt said in a statement posted on his official YouTube account. Things ought should rise, but they are incorrectly breaking in the midst. Thus, it is the players' obligation to keep themselves healthy."

He further said that following Pakistan's underwhelming showing at the 2024 T20 World Cup, the entire country began to question the cricket team's fitness.

"Everyone in Pakistan is discussing the team's fitness, and it caused a stir when minor players were requested to run. This was in response to claims that players wouldn't be ready for the 2024 T20 World Cup. The district level players were being forced to push themselves to the limit for fitness, and no one questioned the physios or trainers. "Those who committed mistakes are still there," he continued.

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host the opening day of the two-match Test series on August 21. Jason Gillespie will take on his maiden task as Pakistan's Test coach during the two Test matches against Bangladesh.

The two-match series' second Test is scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi from August 30 to September 3.

Ihsan, 21, made a big impression with his pace in the Pakistan Super League last year. He then took part in two ODIs at home against New Zealand and three T20 matches against Afghanistan in Sharjah. But after the series against New Zealand, he suffered an elbow injury that kept him out of action for the Asia Cup and World Cup. Unfortunately for the youngster, his recovery has not yet been complete due to a misdiagnosis of his condition and a botched operation in Lahore. A top physician on the board's medical panel made the first diagnosis, according to a Press Trust of India article. As a result, time was lost trying to heal the patient without surgery. Following a failed surgery at a private hospital in Lahore, medical professionals at his PSL team, Multan Sultan, determined he needed to see a specialist in the UK. The PCB has n...

He claimed five wickets and was out in the middle when Hunain Shah angled the final delivery behind point to win United's third title. In Karachi today, the drama of the previous year's epic final, which the Sultans lost by a run, was undoubtedly surpassed. At several points during both innings, United looked to have won that match, but never more so than when they got the Sultans down to 127 for 9. However, Iftikhar Ahmed's cameo of an unbeaten 32 off 20 balls lifted the Sultans to 159, a score that they felt they had just about enough manpower to ...
