In match 14 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, which takes place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday, February 27, the defending champion Lahore Qalandars, who have lost their last five games, will try to improve their record.
The Lahore Qalandars, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, are now bottom of the table and enter the game off an 8-run loss to Peshawar Zalmi. Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan's Multan Sultans defeated Quetta Gladiators by 13 runs to avenge their sole loss of the season.
In their most recent match, Sultans, who had lost for the first time this season, came back with a bang, riding on the fifty-fives of Rizwan and Reeza Hendricks to set a target of 181, before Mohammad Ali's three-for-19 figures helped limit Quetta Gladiators to 167/9.
On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars narrowly missed a thrilling run chase in their most recent game, losing by 8 runs to Peshawar Zalmi's 211 thanks to an undefeated century from Rassie van der Dussen.
Ali (2 for 28) assisted in holding Qalandars to 167 in the rematch last week, but Rizwan (82 off 59) and Iftikhar Ahmed (34* off 11 balls) helped Multan Sultans win by five wickets with one over remaining in Multan.
When Lahore Qalandars take on Sultans for the 19th time in the HBL PSL and the 9th time at the Gaddafi Stadium, it will be their last home game of the season.
