Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is furious over how board members have handled the injury of young fast bowler Ihsanullah.
Ihsan, 21, made a big impression with his pace in the Pakistan Super League last year. He then took part in two ODIs at home against New Zealand and three T20 matches against Afghanistan in Sharjah.
But after the series against New Zealand, he suffered an elbow injury that kept him out of action for the Asia Cup and World Cup.
Unfortunately for the youngster, his recovery has not yet been complete due to a misdiagnosis of his condition and a botched operation in Lahore.
A top physician on the board's medical panel made the first diagnosis, according to a Press Trust of India article. As a result, time was lost trying to heal the patient without surgery.
Following a failed surgery at a private hospital in Lahore, medical professionals at his PSL team, Multan Sultan, determined he needed to see a specialist in the UK.
The PCB has now granted franchise owner Ali Tareen permission to send Ehsan to London for additional advice, but this has infuriated Naqvi, who feels that board members and the medical panel should have been in charge of the fast bowler's care.
"After this incident became public and he learned about it, Mohsin Naqvi is really furious. The source stated that there's a good chance some of the officials in charge of overseeing Ehsan's care won't have jobs very soon.
Ehsan had gone for very few runs in three matches while taking six wickets, impressing everyone with his pace against Afghanistan in Sharjah.
