"Babar Azam exhibited stubbornness and a lack of adaptability": Former head selector for Pakistan

Mohammad Wasim, a former chief selector for Pakistan, has shared his insights on Babar Azam. He claimed that Babar was incredibly obstinate and unreceptive to change.

Making him see the benefits of the adjustments was excruciating. He was really obstinate, and I went above and above what was appropriate to get him to support several calls. He stated on Samaa TV that he was not prepared to accept reforms.

The conflicts between the players and the team administration were brought to light by Wasim's remarks. Babar's status as the white-ball captain is in doubt following Pakistan's elimination from the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the group round.

Wasim has accused Imad Wasim of concealing a knee ailment in the USA and the West Indies during the global competition.

"Imad has been concealing a knee problem for years. We frequently discuss Azam Khan's level of fitness, but Imad has the same issue. For the same reason, he was dropped from the side, and I also let him go during my employment so he could focus on getting fit,” he claimed.

Wasim added that Pakistan wouldn't be able to win with a bunch of men's team players on the side since four coaches labeled them as cancer.

"Four coaches said that a set of guys is cancer to the team; I won't name them. Pakistan cannot prevail if they are included in the squad. "I attempted to remove them from the team, but they were called back by the team management," he continued.

Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is furious over how board members have handled the injury of young fast bowler Ihsanullah. Ihsan, 21, made a big impression with his pace in the Pakistan Super League last year. He then took part in two ODIs at home against New Zealand and three T20 matches against Afghanistan in Sharjah. But after the series against New Zealand, he suffered an elbow injury that kept him out of action for the Asia Cup and World Cup. Unfortunately for the youngster, his recovery has not yet been complete due to a misdiagnosis of his condition and a botched operation in Lahore. A top physician on the board's medical panel made the first diagnosis, according to a Press Trust of India article. As a result, time was lost trying to heal the patient without surgery. Following a failed surgery at a private hospital in Lahore, medical professionals at his PSL team, Multan Sultan, determined he needed to see a specialist in the UK. The PCB has n...

He claimed five wickets and was out in the middle when Hunain Shah angled the final delivery behind point to win United's third title. In Karachi today, the drama of the previous year's epic final, which the Sultans lost by a run, was undoubtedly surpassed. However, Iftikhar Ahmed's cameo of an unbeaten 32 off 20 balls lifted the Sultans to 159, a score that they felt they had just about enough manpower to ...
